A rule for certain success

The one "secret" to success in dentistry

You see so many lists concerning success on the internet – "7 habits", "12 rules" and so on. There are always a lot of habit/rules and usually you need to read hundreds of pages to get them all.

Today I'm going to give you the "secret" to successful dental practice and it will only take five words. Ready?

Offer every patient ideal dentistry.

If you truly understand that you can stop reading right now and move on but maybe you want a bit more explanation.

"Offer" means give the patient the option. It doesn't mean force them or coerce them or pressure them.

"Every" means every. Not some. Not just the ones who look wealthy. Not just the ones you like. Not just when you feel confident they will say "yes".

"Ideal" means the dentistry you would choose for yourself if you had the same problem. Would you have a cusp-overlay amalgam with 5 pins? Of course not.

That's it. So simple.

By following the rule you will have a constant flow of good quality work to do. Not every patient will accept ideal dentistry but enough will. Over time you will build a reputation for offering and delivering excellent dentistry.

Obviously there are details as to how and when to offer ideal dentistry and those are what I cover in my course, "The Art of Case Acceptance".
