Do you have a BS website?

Recently I’ve been looking for an installer for a home security CCTV system. That process has involved lots of googling trying to find the right company or person.

In that process, it’s amazing how many BS websites I’ve found. If you’re alert can spot a BS website very quickly.

  • Stock photos everywhere.

  • Standard boilerplate design (look for a web company’s name at the bottom of the page).

  • Huge lists of services they provide.

  • Badges. We’re a member of or we supply...

  • We cover these suburbs (followed by a big list).

  • No focus, a bit of everything.

Once you realise the website is BS you lose trust in the company. Maybe they are trustworthy and maybe they can’t be relied on? Is their service all smoke and mirrors just like their website?

Then I started looking at dental websites and found many of the same problems.

In fact I found very few dental websites that truly reflected the dentist.

So, my question is, have you had a good hard look at your website lately? Or did you just throw thousands of dollars at a website company and let them come up with something?

I contend that it is important, especially if you want to stand out from the crowd.

You need a site with focus and authentic content. A site that you had direct input into.

A site that reflects who you truly are.
