Impute

Dr Mark HassedOne of Apple's key concepts was a thing called "impute".This short excerpt from Walter Isaacson's biography of Steve Jobs explains the concept.

"The third and equally important principle, awkwardly named, was impute. It emphasized that people form an opinion about a company or product based on the signals that it conveys. "People DO judge a book by its cover," he wrote. "We may have the best product, the highest quality, the most useful software, etc; if we present them in a slipshod manner, they will be perceived as slipshod; it we present them in a creative, professional manner, we will impute the desired qualities."

What's this mean for dentists?People find it very hard to judge the quality of dental work that you provide. But, they certainly can tell if your office is messy, cluttered, badly designed or not clean. And, they will "impute" the quality of your dentistry based on that.Look around your office with fresh eyes and make sure that you have impute working for you, not against you.
